NEW MUSIC: Coldplay - Always In My Head

This era for Coldplay has been rather fascinating, from the release of Bon Iver-esk 'Midnight' to the Euphoric Avicii produced 'A Sky Full Of Stars' and of course the lead single 'Magic' which I was real unsure of to begin with but after it came on mid jog I was like. Fuck, this is actually a sick. I was really unsure of how the album would pan out with three very different genre's from a band that is mostly known for their piano led rock ballads. I was slightly skeptical.

ALBUM REVIEW : IGGY AZALEA - THE NEW CLASSIC

Aussie export Iggy Azalea has been such a revelation in recent years, I remember first hearing a track called 'Pu$$y' off an EP of hers, I played it for my housemate and the repetitive 'pussy, pussy, pussy' basically became a stock standard phrase in our daily lives for a good few weeks, regardless of the fact that it was probably our least favourite name for a woman's vagina (along with fanny and cunt). Since that day I had always been excited about her releases and this LONG LONG wait we went through to get to her debut album 'The New Classic' (Which has been very well received basically across the globe) was frustrating but we finally go there not long after the release of the 4th official single (Work, Bounce, Change Your Life and then Fancy) which is BLOWING up the global charts and I can say that I am immensely proud of how far she has come as an artist and the recognition she's received as a white female rapper has been phenomenal!

Tune Of The Week: RUFUS - Imaginary Air

Whilst trolling my way through some other music blogs I stumbled across an electronica outfit that was previously unknown to me, their album 'Atlas' was given a raving review so I thought, why not, let's downloaded the sucker and see what this hype is about. And fuck, am I glad that I did. This album is EVERYTHING that many many people wished that their own albums had amassed to this year.

NEW SINGLE: Ellie Goulding - Burn

British Pop Royalty, Ellie Goulding is re-releasing her Second album Halcyon with a slew of new tracks including her Alt-J cover 'Tessellate'. Halcyon was one of my favourite albums of 2012, it reached such great heights and really proved that her first album was no fluke, she's one seriously talented musician and still has one of the most intriguing and captivating voices in the game. A few days ago 'Burn', The lead single from this Re-Release was put up online.. and DAMN, it is stunning.

Moby feat. Cold Specks - A Case For Shame

I'm all about music that conjures some kind of emotion, whether it be happiness, sadness, love, heartbreak.. I just look for music that makes me feel something and being able to connect with a piece of music is an amazing gift that the Artist has bestowed upon us. Say what you want about Moby, but his productions are always something to be marvelled over in my opinion and his new single from his upcoming album 'Innocents' is nothing different but in this over-saturated "EDM" music market anything that differs from that is the freshest breathes of air..

LISTEN: Uppermost - Love

Every now and again, a track comes along which completely captivates me, twice in 6 months this captivation has come from the same artist from 2 different albums, one of my first post on The Arbitrated was a track called "Passion" from his last album. So today I purchased Uppermost's new album "Revolution". Like his previous albums, the album on a whole is nothing short of amazing. His samples and his productions are so on point and really have such a lot of passion poured into each of these tracks.

LISTEN: Delta Goodrem - No Communication

Okay, I have been SO slack updating since I moved house in March, I've totally lost my way and I am fighting so hard to get back on track. I've been in the midst of joblessness and totally stress trying to find a job in this damn recession. Seriously, Fuck the UK and it's job market. Finally got a job. Feeling a little relieved but also still this last month and a half of stress hasn't been able to be eased... Until, I finally got around to listening to Delta Goodrem's latest Album 'Child Of The Universe'. I have never ever liked Delta (Okay, I was a straight up sucker for the Tommy Trash Remix of 'Believe Again'... it was an amazing AMAZING track) and I really have never paid much attention to her until someone I went to school with ended up directing the video for 'Sitting On Top Of The World', he's a seriously talented guy named Guy Franklin, he's directed quite a few amazing videos for Guy Sebastian and Kimbra, check out Kimbra's 'Two Way Street' - my personal favourite. Anyway back to Delta.

Tune Of The Week: Young Galaxy - New Summer

First Track of the week for April 2013!!

As the release of (My Favorite Band) 'Young Galaxy's 4th album 'Ultramarine' (APRIL 23rd!!!) grows ever closer, they have now teased us with the third single from their so far, flawless string of singles, first 'Pretty Boy' which I originally wasn't too keen on when I first heard it account on someone pointing out that it sounds 100% like early 80's track 'Wild Ambitions' by YMO - but then I thought, why do I actually even give a fuck? If someone can breathe fresh life into something, then just enjoy it - so I did, 157 times (to be precise). Then came the funky 'Fall For You' and now with the release of 'New Summer' I am legit frothing at the mouth like a rabid dog.

ALBUM REVIEW: Emma Louise - Vs Head Vs Heart

I don't think I've done much else in the last week apart from listen to this album, I didn't even think about a track of the week as I've been so enthralled with this absolute beautiful collection. This has been almost 2 years of anticipation for me. From the moment I first heard Aussie folk/electro/pop singer songwriter Emma Louise's track 'Jungle' I was completely sold and then her EP came out which I was clinically obsessed with and helped define a time in my life where I was really unsure of where I was going and what I was doing, So it comes to me at no surprise that the connection to her music has continued with this album and BOY it is nothing but impeccable from start to finish..

Track Of The Week: Little Boots - Motorway

Little Boots took ownership of my soul back in 2009 with the release of her flawless album 'Hands' - tracks like 'Stuck On Repeat' (AND the Fake Blood Remix was fucking masterpiece), 'Remedy',  'Earthquake', 'New In Town', 'Ghost' 'Hearts Collide', 'Meddle' - ACTUALLY Pretty much every track on the album is worth mentioning so it's no surprise that she was the winner of BBC's Sound of 2009 which was a HUGE achievement considering the people she was up against in that years list (Florence & The Machine, VV Brown, Frankmusik, Mumford & Sons, Kid Cudi, Lady Gaga, La Roux, Passion Pit, The Temper Trap, Empire Of The Sun)

NEW: Young Galaxy - Fall For You

In the early months of 2011, Young Galaxy released one of my favourite albums of the year and quite possibly my life 'Shapeshifting', The pure emotion that was poured into the music was just phenomenal, not to mention the Videos we're always an inspiring accompaniment. My favorite track by far was "Blown Minded"(which I will post below for anyone who has not ever experienced the track) I still rememeber where I was and what I felt when I first heard the track, I was sitting on my bed after a brutal shift at McDonald's and was checking my favourite music blogs for new tracks and I happened to come across this and from the moment the beautiful music poured into my ears I knew I had come across something incredibly special. A few other honourable mentions from 'Shapeshifting' are 'Peripheral Visionaries' -  (which will literally take you on a journey through your own mind - THAT BASS - Absolutely fucking fantastic), 'We Have Everything' and 'B.S.E'.

Fast forward two years and my faves are on the verge of the release of their 4th studio album "Aquamarine'. They released the first single 'Pretty Boy' - which was clinically an obsession for me when it came out and I've been waiting for more ever since. Click to listen to their new single!

ALBUM REVIEW: TEGAN AND SARA - HEARTTHROB

Tegan & Sara are one of those much appreciated indie duo's that have been around for years, always pumping out great tunes from the early stuff in their career (their 4th album, So Jealous, was where they really struck gold with tracks 'Walking with a Ghost', 'Where do the good go', 'You wouldn't like me' and 'Take me anywhere') up to this new album which is their Seventh Studio album, to be released in 3 days. Their new album is a different direction for them, they've dived head first into Pop territory and honestly I think it's the best thing they could have done. Their voices actually work so well with the beats. To me 'Heartthrob' has been the easiest album to connect with
