First Track of the week for April 2013!!
As the release of (My Favorite Band) 'Young Galaxy's 4th album 'Ultramarine' (APRIL 23rd!!!) grows ever closer, they have now teased us with the third single from their so far, flawless string of singles, first 'Pretty Boy' which I originally wasn't too keen on when I first heard it account on someone pointing out that it sounds 100% like early 80's track 'Wild Ambitions' by YMO - but then I thought, why do I actually even give a fuck? If someone can breathe fresh life into something, then just enjoy it - so I did, 157 times (to be precise). Then came the funky 'Fall For You' and now with the release of 'New Summer' I am legit frothing at the mouth like a rabid dog.
Can't even describe how much I am in love with their sound for this album so far, the quirky electronic are really astounding. I really could not have asked for anything different... Actually, as much as I do love Catherine's vocals, I do wish that Steve would have lead on a track or two, but alas, I'm not too bothered, I can listen to 'Blown Minded' repetitively anyway if I need too.
When I play 'New Summer', all I envision is some cliche but extremely enjoyable flashbacks of summer fun.. and being as I've just moved to a beach town on the coast of England I'm sure this is going to be an absolute Summer anthem and I firmly believe that this is a must have track for Summer 2013! The vocals are beautiful and the lyrics are on point too, I really don't think there is a genre Catherine's voice wouldn't suit.
I would high recommend anyone who hasn't heard their previous material to get a hold of their past albums and enjoy the progression they have made as a band, it's truly amazing!
