ALBUM REVIEW : IGGY AZALEA - THE NEW CLASSIC

Aussie export Iggy Azalea has been such a revelation in recent years, I remember first hearing a track called 'Pu$$y' off an EP of hers, I played it for my housemate and the repetitive 'pussy, pussy, pussy' basically became a stock standard phrase in our daily lives for a good few weeks, regardless of the fact that it was probably our least favourite name for a woman's vagina (along with fanny and cunt). Since that day I had always been excited about her releases and this LONG LONG wait we went through to get to her debut album 'The New Classic' (Which has been very well received basically across the globe) was frustrating but we finally go there not long after the release of the 4th official single (Work, Bounce, Change Your Life and then Fancy) which is BLOWING up the global charts and I can say that I am immensely proud of how far she has come as an artist and the recognition she's received as a white female rapper has been phenomenal! 

The track I really want to bring attention to is 'Walk The Line' is the absolute stand out track of the album, such a triumphant moment on the album, there's something about those raps on the verses and the singing on the chorus 'Don't know where I'm at now/this is the line and I walk alone" just really moves me. I literally cannot get enough, it's been on repeat for daaaayyyyyyyssss.

Next track I want to mention is 'Goddess' - It's feels as though there's been a lot of goddess references in music lately, from Gaga's 'G.U.Y. and Venus', BANKS' 'Goddess' and now Iggy's Goddess. This track is EPPPPIICCCCC the beat is pounding, her raps are FIERCE as fuck and the chorus that just commands you to "Bow down to a Goddess" and then "Put your hands to the sky, but only if you feel the vibe, they wanna bury me alive but y'all know real gods never die"

Other memorable tracks: Lady Patra, Black Widow, Just Askin'. 

This album is perfect from start to finish, it's fresh, it's fun, it's FIERCE and it's down right fucking fabulous. And this is only the beginning :D.
