Welcome back to the 2nd edition of BRAND SPANKIN' THURSDAY :D. Easily my new favourite day of the week :D Let's get the ball rolling, it's been a tough week for me to chose the 5 tracks but I've narrowed it down!
1. Mariah Carey - You Don't Know What To Do (Feat. Wale).
AHHHHHHH, is really all I have to say, after a series of probably the worst tracks we've ever heard from is deluded woman she finally gets something right. I absolutely hate her ballads and it's her more uptempo tracks that I think should be showcased more than her perpetually boring ballads. This track is sick, starts with just Mariah and the piano and then this big disco beat kicks in which basically put me 6 feet under. This should have been the first single!! Pre-order Mariah Carey's new album "Me, I Am Mariah.. The Elusive Chanteuse" HERE!
2. Jess Glynne - Right Here.
Wow, this girl is just everywhere at the moment in British house/pop music. And rightly so, her soulful voice is just divine! You might recognise her voice from the monster hit from our faves Clean Bandit's 'Rather Be' or even Route 94's 'My Love'. But here we have her Gorgon City produced debut single which is going to be an absolute smash!!! Obsession is an understatement!
3. Gorgon City - Here For You.
From the oh so stylish deep house-y beats to the penetrating vocals of Laura Welsh, this track was made to be a hit. I am certainly loving this revival of 90's house music over the last couple of years, it's bought so many amazing acts to the mainstream and once again it's the brit's leading the way! This track captivates from first play. Major, major track. You can purchase this HERE!!
4. Nicki Minaj - Pills N Potions.
Thankfully, the ratchet starships sound is GONE!!!!! Even though this isn't at all close to what I was hoping for with the fierce buzz tracks that have been coming out of the Minaj camp over the last 2 months.. It's a welcome change from that revolting direction that she went in for album I can't even recall the name of and am in no hurry to refresh my memory either. Pls bring back mixtape Minaj.. PLS. You can purchase the single HERE
5. BANKS - Drowning.
With every taste we get from her forthcoming album 'Goddess' brings another delectable piece of her signature Alt-Rnb sound, the wait for me is near excruciating but these buzz releases are easing the pain. Favourite moment of this track is the Pre-chorus, the way it flows and she delivers 'You are not deserving' just hits me for 6. Killer track and my absolute favourite moment in this weeks flurry of new music. you can Pre-Order her album 'Goddess' HERE!
